Sri Wahyuni, Transmission, 2025, hand-dyed cotton and copper thread
Sri Wahyuni, Transmission, 2025. Hand-dyed cotton and copper thread, 240 × 180 cm.

Across Southeast Asia, weaving has always carried more than pattern. It has held genealogy, cosmology, protest and prayer in its threads. The nine artists in this exhibition inherit that language and bend it toward the present.

Their looms hold copper wire and fibre optics beside handspun cotton. A signal, here, is both the woven motif that once marked a village and the data now pulsing through the same gesture. What survives translation, and what is deliberately lost, is the exhibition's quiet question.
